Clean Energy & Environmental Materials (CEEM) Laboratory

Welcome to CEEM Laboratory

At the CEEM Laboratory, we are a team of enthusiastic chemists, principally interested in developing nanomaterials by adopting sustainable synthesis methodologies.  These nanomaterials can be employed for various energy and environmental applications, including adsorption of pollutants from wastewater, solar light harvesting for the degradation of water contaminants, hydrogen fuel generation by water splitting, CO2 reduction into chemical fuels, energy storage materials for battery applications, etc.

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur

National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur was established as Regional Institute of Technology in 1960. Later, in December 2002 it was upgraded to the National Institute of Technology with the status of Autonomous Institute under the aegis of Institute of National Importance, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi (by an Act of Parliament namely, the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007).

The institute is located on the outskirts of Jamshedpur on 341.3 acres of sprawling, rolling hilly, wooded land. It combines the natural beauty of the countryside with the urban glamour of an industrial area. The Institute has 11 departments including engineering, science, and humanities. The Institute, with 200 faculty, 4000 students, 150 administrative and supporting staff, is a self-contained campus.
